September 14th, 2024 Dragon Mid-Autumn Food Festival
September 14th, 2024, the Huafengyunart Senior’s group participated in the Year of the Dragon Mid-Autumn Food Festival, performing the grand and magnificent ‘My Motherland’ fan dance together with the second-generation Chinese. The energetic performance was truly stunning! We also took the opportunity to raise our glasses at Haidilao—cheers, friends! 😄 Next day, we would perform ‘Ballet on the Treetops.’ It was a sunny Saturday, filled with joy and the rhythm and steps of the Mid-Autumn Festival! 😄😄😄🌹🌹🌹💃💃💃”
2024 Sept 3rd, celebration of Heather He's Love Bank
On September 2, 2024, we attended the 14th anniversary celebration of Chairwoman Heather He’s Love Bank. It was a warm and love-filled 14 years, with heartfelt reflections on every moment. Once again, Huafengyunart Senior’s group captivated the audiences with a mesmerizing performance. Each of the chairwoman’s original poems, like sweet dew, flowed into the hearts of every attendee. The volunteer recognition ceremony once again inspired everyone to value their contributions to the community and society. Happy Birthday to the Love Bank! 🎂🎁🎊🎉
2024 Sept 1st, Dragon Cultural Festival
On September 1, 2024, the Huafengyunart Senior’s group participated in Toronto’s largest and most influential Dragon Culture Festival. Grandmothers, with an average age of 65, performed the Big Fan Dance My Motherland alongside second-generation Chinese-Canadians. Despite different skin colors, they share the same roots and voice, all descendants of the dragon, carrying on Chinese culture and the legacy of My Motherland! The performance also beautifully showcased Canada’s multiculturalism in all its splendor. Raise a glass, my friends! First, a toast to our motherland, and then to send off a century of memories! It was a powerful, energetic, and joyful day!
2024 Jun 30 Canada’s 157th Birthday BBQ Bash
Member of Parliament Shaun Chen (陈圣源) is hosting the annual Canada Day Weekend BBQ event at Woodside Square to celebrate Canada’s 157th anniversary. The Huafengyunart Seniors Group will deliver a captivating performance, “Dream Camel,” to open the celebration with a spring breeze that doesn’t require fans—nature’s own wind will take care of it! It’s a rare opportunity to witness the spirited veterans who contributed to the founding of Canada. Embracing various ethnicities and multiculturalism, let’s celebrate Happy Canada Day!

At this celebration, the Huafengyunart Seniors Group made a dazzling appearance with an English song and dance performance. People from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s enjoyed the moment—laughing, shedding tears, and telling each other they are loved! We are young and full of life! The entire venue was filled with applause and thumbs up.
Participated in the Federal Senator Hu's Award Ceremony & Summer Solstice Festival Performance 2024Jun 22
June 22, 2024, was a busy yet joyful day. At 9:00 AM, We headed straight to Markham City Hall to attend the award presentation by Federal Senator Victor Oh. The awards were presented in both English and French, and stamped with Senator Victor Oh’s personal seal. It was truly an honor. When you don’t fret over things, surprises naturally come your way.
In the afternoon, We rushed to Scarborough City Hall (Albert Campbell Square) to participate in the Summer Solstice Festival performance. The grand fan dance, ‘Spring Breeze Ten Thousand Miles,’ was performed in Scarborough City Hall. Despite the heavy winds and rain, we successfully completed the performance and enjoyed a wonderful day!
Celebration of International Children's Day

Today is International Children’s Day, we time-traveled back to our childhood, playing kids game named “Eagle and Chicks” and singing songs like “The Mushroom-Picking Girl” and “I Love Beijing Tiananmen.” How beautiful life is! Nothing can stop our joy!
Toronto’s summer is too short, so let’s keep busy—attending anti-fraud lectures, playing ping-pong, celebrating the Children’s Day party, and enjoying the food festival with great success

We savored Korean delicacies, blending into the diverse cultures. When we were young, the “Love of the Rhine River” accompanied us. This weekend featured three consecutive days of performances—what an exhilarating time!
Multicultural Festival

Our group braved the rain and rushed all the way to participate in the Multicultural Festival performance. Special thanks to the China Folk Art Center, Chairman Zhong, and President Haiyan for their hard work in organizing the event. The Huafengyunart Senior’s group sang and performed “Ballet on the Tree Tops,” making its second appearance. The applause and cheers were a huge encouragement for us! It was fantastic!

In this sunny day, the Huafengyunart Senior’s group participated in the Asian Culture Festival with the elegant and beautiful dance “China in the Firelight,” enjoying a wonderful festival!
Mother's Day Event

Today we attended the Mother’s Day event, and the uncles and aunts of the Huafengyunart Senior’s group transformed into Air Force pilots, flying fighter jets as if performing ballet atop tree branches. It was graceful, romantic, and full of courage as they forged ahead!

Lunar New Year’s Eighth Day
On the eighth day of the Lunar New Year, everything prospers, and the road ahead is smooth. The Spring Festival Gala in CEFS center, bringing together three generations, our community performed an English song with a dance. The post-80s, post-70s, and post-60s were all full of energy, with their careers thriving! Blessings and prosperity flowed for the sons and grandsons of the three generations!
